Today's audition was an improv for a legal training video at a studio in Sacramento - the same studio where I recently played a doctor and a Spanish speaking patient for a medical video. I was asked to sit down in front of the director and a panel of three serious looking middle-aged women. I am guessing they are lawyers or work for the court system. Then, I was auditioned for the role of the bad boy teen's mother. I had to answer a few questions about my son:
Had he been in trouble with the law before? Do I think he has done anything wrong? What are his plans for next year, after he gets out of high school?
Well - as the sister of two younger brothers - I sure had a wealth of history and drama to draw upon! I played this mother as blue collar and humble; she works two jobs and can't supervise every afternoon of her son's life...But she strongly believes in his innocence.
"You were very believable," said the director.
I'll know just how believable by Monday.
