Just Fantastic

Closing night was all a closing night should be. Everyone in the cast and crew exceeded their own best, our energy was like lightening bolts, and the audience was the most appreciative in the series. A man I worked with over a decade ago who recently found me on LinkedIn sent me the most glorious spray of purple irises and a beautiful card, and these, along with The Stipend, awaited me in the dressing room, as did a funny pill bottle of blue-themed M&M's, a gift from Maddie (Corrinna Stroller). I distributed my gifts of penguin cards with nun-themed or other enclosures tailored for each character, the director, the costumer, and artistic director, and they all seemed to enjoy the moment.

After the three-bow show we retired to a cool Anglo-California pub and the stars' parents, who had flown in to join us all the way from Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Indianapolis lavished praise all around. Unfortunately, Sue and Penny and Chris had to stay back and tear down the set, and Margot, our director, was out sick.

We're all invited to audition for the next Role Players' Ensemble shows. Nick (Ronnie in HOBL) has already been cast in "Kimberly Akimbo." I wouldn't be surprised if he already knows his lines.

Got home to the most voluptuously complimentary voicemail from my pal George, the ballet dancer. He knows showbiz, was impressed by my acting, and loved the play. "I like dark," says he.
