A Quiet Friday Night

At first, nary a peep was heard tonight at "The House of Blue Leaves" in Danville. Then there was one guffaw, a giggle, followed by a full out belly laugh. By the second act, the audience was with the show and the players. As Sukanya, Maureen, and I were backstage preparing for our nuns' moment in Act 2, Scene 1, I heard Nick Brunner as son Ronnie go full force on his monologue and caught a dash of his extreme dance and dying swan. So much energy! That's when I decided we all had to ramp it up tonight. Once we did, the audience was totally with us.

Nuns had their little outing at a too-loud wine bar afterwards. We were prepared to share some backstage hersotries, but afraid to damage our vocal chords. So, we ordered good reds and an assortment of holiday hummus as the rock band exploded, then we hit the road.
