So Much Better Tonight

I told myself stories about how I wanted to look and sound and be cued...I did what I hoped I would accomplish in my little routine. Well, here's how it goes...you remember the cue, but you lose the attitude ... maybe your were "thinking too much." You lead in song or prayer or vocalization, but you don't realize that your partners may not be in sync. So you get a note, you think some more, and by tomorrow, you'd better be BETTER.

Still - it was a good dress rehearsal night. Bananas got her right make-up, Bunny got to use her own fabulous curly red hair, it was Bruce's birthday, so his Artie was a pretty happy guy, and everyone else did a great job. Some stayed later for notes to which I am not privy. But, I know we are all working hard.

Bonus - I finally remembered to put back my nun's whistle onto the prop table...you have no idea how much this means to Penny. Try as I might, I was unable to morph the Head Nun's silver colored whistle into a costume element and keep it with my habit. A prop is a prop is a prop, and that Props Department is sacred. The problem with the whistle is that I can only put it on around my neck after my head gear and collar are on, but I can't take it off til I disrobe...Believe me, you have to be there to understand the cotton, the velcro, the polyester, the nunsense, and the whimsy.

Oh, and lest I forget - tonight we nuns who thought our habits were too long, got BELTS. Plain black Marine cord belts. Totally cool thing to have a waist, even if it doesn't really show - it's not, er, wasted.
