Pre-Holiday Weeks

Two auditions coming up - one for a talky women's play in San Francisco, another for a 3-act play by the Black Repertory Group Theater, "First Born." I'll audition for the role of the white music coach. No word about my Shakespeare audition, so I guess it's not meant to be...or not to be.

Busy week spent juggling money matters, writing contracts, day-job interviews (oh yes, that day job necessity still lurks in the actors' unconscious), preparing a class, teaching, following up to teaching (I taught my first class on online newsletter writing at Media Alliance in Oakland).

I also did some Christmas shopping in Danville - the cute town where I appeared in John Guare's "The House of Blue Leaves" several weeks ago. Now playing at the same theater, Dickens', "A Christmas Carol," for which I just missed auditioning. So I'm treating self to the show tonight, to see how the character of Mrs. Dickens, whom I might have played, turned out, and how my favorite stage looks with new scenic design. The young man at the box office who works for the City of Danville recognized me as one of the nuns and gave compliments to the entire cast. Turns out he also ran lights for us, but I had never seen him.

Looking forward to a new year, a refreshed me, and getting lots of well-paid opportunities through my agent.
