On the Road

Yesterday's shoot went really well. I did most of my part in one take. Sure seems like a lot of prep and travel for my potential few seconds of Orange County fame! Met some lovely actors - Rebekah, Freddy, Michelle, and Naomi. Good crew, fun make-up lady named Skipper. She said my make-up was great, and just offered translucent powder touch ups. Got compliments from cast and crew on my delivery.

Had spent the night before at the hotel (at my own expense) ironing my wardrobe choices - the solid blue blouse, the ever ready red jacket, the white polo shirt and denim jacket.....but they loved what I as wearing, the interesting blue and purple silk. Well, that was a good break, as the park offered no changing rooms.

I was to go on at 1 PM, but when I arrived 20 minutes prior the crew was having lunch, so I explored the charming town of Orange, its antique shops, boutiques, and old 50's quirky atmosphere with a touch of Mediterranean flair. As I was rounding up my walk back to Plaza Square I encountered a woman in blue, with bright short red hair, in a wheelchair. Linda and I chatted for a long time, and she told me all about how she ended up in that wheelchair, from a silent stroke overnight, at 57. Fortunately, she has a roommate, or it could have been worse. Turns out she was taken care of at St. Joseph Hospital - the client for whom we were doing this very commercial - and thinks quite highly of them and the rehab she got. So, I brought her experience into my character's delivery, at some level.

I'm still on the road, so later for more details and photos.
