RIP, Patricia Neal

I must acknowledge this fine actress who passed on Sunday. She had a life of tragedy, yet she endured.
This is a terrible truth: I had not heard anything about her in years, and I didn't know she was still alive til I read that she passed on August 8, 2010 at age 84, of lung cancer in Edgartown, Massachusetts.

I remember her best as the mother in "The Miracle Worker," 1959. Here's her enormous filmography, as provided by Wikipedia, proving that talented old dames do get to act!
