Nothing wasted

A hondo degrees in Long Beach today. Spent some time at the beach, facing the islands of oil wells, staring into a brown circle of air enveloping this strip - well, while studying my script, of course.

Third rehearsal tonight was going to be about blocking Act II. Instead we did another readthrough and tightening of Act I, and I was so grateful. We got another new actress tonight. So, yes, someone else bailed out and we are all praying that's the last of that! We don't have a lot of time! Supposed to be off-book by Monday with Act I. Tuesday for Act II?

Director and playwright want me to be meaner. I need to channel all the bitchy peope I've ever met, including that unsavory boss my friends all know as Crapsie.

Every life experience feeds the author and actor. Nothing is ever wasted, my creative friends.

Did a quick costume run today, too. In 10 minutes at Marshall's I found the components of my character's hot date outfit....black poly decolletage, with a touch of whimsy. Oh, this is the fun part! We have no wardrobe person, so our stage manager has asked us to come up with our outfits for each scene. My Heather will wear a variety of tacky business suits.

"THE LITTLE NEBBISH" by Eliza Gale - OPENING NOVEMBER 29 AT THE BERUBIANS THEATER IN LONG BEACH. MONDAYS 8 PM THROUGH DECEMBER 27.
