Casting in downtown Oakland

This does not happen often - casting for a video in downtown Oakland. What a lovely sensation to not have to cross a bridge or risk life and limb driving to Los Angeles for an audition. This morning I got up, did face and hair, put on my new beautiful peach colored Christmas blouse (Thanks, Cuz!) and threw on my new Pashmina Christmas shawl (Thanks, Pat!), jumped in the car, and arrived early for my audition as the dying Mexican woman. My only worry? I may look way too healthy for a dying woman. Promise to self: if I get cast I'll do the liquid diet for a few days prior to the shoot.

The director said the pancreatic cancer victim's skin would be yellowish and there would be a lot of attention to make-up. Not one for my glamor reel...

In the room, at least one actor I've worked with before, there to audition for the role of the doctor - an actor who played the narrator in the commercial Tommy Maples shot for 65+Diabetes Ally.
