Eight hours in long hair

First, we did all those short panning shots of the products; then we went outside and had my character, the owner of a product designed to be used for emergency calling, trip on the stairs, fall at the bottom, then recover quickly, and use the push-button hero to call for help. I tried, in my royal blue Moroccan tunic dress over tight black slacks, with a stylish blue and gold dupatta, necklace, the alarm medallion, etc., to fall with grace, and recover well. It was a good shoot, four hours well spent. And for me, it turned into eight hours in my long-haired wig. There's a strange pressure on your head if you're not used to this wiggery, and the chemicals in the man-made Korean fibers do a bit of a number on the wearer. After awhile, you start to feel yucky and headachy...

After the shoot I was invited to read parts of the director's really wonderful script about an American family in the heartland. I read it aloud, doing all the eccentric parts. That's all I can say, other than to express my gratitude for this privilege. I hope to have some involvement in the production, and not just as an actress.
