Thanks, Mike

Every now and then as I scroll through Craigslist ads I find someone looking out for the rest of us. In this case, actor Mike posted the following under Talent. I can relate to his frustration.

"First: I am not saying 'don't audition'.
Ask this group if they have performance locations already in place and do they have permits in hand NOW, not "we're working on it".
Ask them if payment is based on how many tickets you have to sell or is the stipend automatic.
Ask them if you get paid even if the shows don't happen due to poor attendance.
Ask them if they have a production staff in place for sets, wardrobe, lights, etc.

Again, I'm not saying 'don't audition'.
But DO ASK QUESTIONS.
If they don't answer, walk away and find a legitimate theater company.
