Fab storyteller

Plugging away at the day job, inattentive to my acting blog for awhile. But, I must share this: we had a magnificent visitor to our Art of Storytelling class last week at Stagebridge. She is Linda Gorham, who has been doing this for 20 years, to great success.

What makes her so good? She is finely attuned to her audience. Her delivery is totally interactive. She used song, dance, and movement to tell her stories to a class of potential Master Storytellers.

Adapted from her work with children, teens, and others. Hails from N.J. and now lives in northern CA. Nothing about her storytelling locks into time and place - she's simply artful and timeless.

Well, here's the thing I loved most of all: she wore this distinctly nouveau-retro Marcel Marceau black and white striped body-fitting top, the black stripes being huge blocks that outlined her figure. This was tucked into black jeans and a wide Marine style cotton belt, like we wore in the day. Her shoes - Michael Jackson-style patent leather flats. Ya know, it's not just the story, it's the entire presentation, head to toe.
