It's been awhile since I've posted. Just don't feel so enthusiastic about sharing everything that happens these days. Plus, I teach online, which keeps my eyeballs occupied a lot, and I teach live, which keeps me in front of an audience at least once a week!
The short update is, I've auditioned several times in the past few weeks. Last night I got back from another one in LA for a commercial. All I knew is I had to have had the disease the commercial would be about, but, I thought I had to say it in Spanish. So, I went to Google Translate, as I wasn't sure I had it quite right. What a mistake that was! But, I can't tell you the full story here, for fear of giving up too much information about the audition. So, it will have to wait. Just let me say this: never, ever trust online translation services. Make sure you have a human backup. Fortunately, I do. It turned out they only needed me to tell my disease story in English, anyway.
This morning I got called to work as an Hispanic woman for a financial services firm, for a training video being shot soon here in the Bay Area. That's a nice follow-up to the round trip to LA. This one's in English.
