Demain soir

Our cabaret performance is tomorrow night, at Rossmoor, a Bay Area retirement community, for the French Club dinner party. Negligent moi, I have not been posting about our Cabaret Crème rehearsals. But, here's something to inspire us, now reduced from thirteen to nine performers:

That's Edith Piaf singing  "L'Hymne a l'amour." Noted: she was a "sparrow" and an exotic beauty, no doubt with Middle Eastern and gypsy roots. But, she, too, aged like the rest of us, and because of the way life was lived in her time, and her accidents, tragedies, and use of alcohol and drugs, she may have appeared more aged than she really was, born in 1915, gone by age 47. Still - what a beauty! What a voice! Quel couer!

Merci, Edith Piaf!
