News and frustrations

I can accompany myself, too. Photo by Ramon Prendergast.

Today, I arranged the visit to our next Cabaret Crème performance site in Santa Rosa, where a colleague and I will check out the space, measure it, and try out the aging piano, as we prepare for our February show.

Based on the last phone call a few days ago from a casting director, I'm booked this weekend as a grandma for a two-day hospital shoot. Yet - here it is - 8:46 p.m. Friday, and the details are not in. Maybe I should just go to Cache Creek Casino.

There is a ton of casting going on this month, and, more than usual, I'm rearing to go, here and in the southland.

I apply for everything feasible for my type and travel context. Lately, this includes: a Spanish-speaking manager; a school administrator; a French-speaking female customer; a Spanish-speaking nurse; a working journalist who will chronicle patients' stories; a corporate type; and a French science web host. Here I am, casting directors!
