Never too Old nor too Wise

The follow-up call came today for the Walnut Creek audition. The woman who owns the agency was just a tad too enthusiastic about casting me as a "vivacious petite." Gushing about how great my photos came out...She would need first to put together "a casting card" of my photos. Would I send over a few more pix?  It didn't take me too long to wise up - yes, even at this mature stage of life, it sure helps to share these stories with one's old mother!
When I Googled this woman and the agency I found out her real name, and that she has been in trouble with the law for charging a fortune for photography and classes -  when people go back to try to get even a portion of their money back after not achieving a satisfactory conclusion, they can't. Typical agency scam. Check in with me and I'll tell you more. Here's the key -  she doesn't call herself a casting agent, nor does she call her company a talent or modeling agency. Now I realize it's because she's not allowed to.  I should have sniffed this one out earlier, when I was unable to get her - after a few emails back and forth before meeting - to define what exactly the "casting" was for.
Kids, the goal of an audition or casting session has to be clear and understood before you go there. No more murky stuff for me.  Sometimes one's enthusiasm gets the better of us.
