You know when you start to blow your timing that it's basically because you're overprogrammed. That was the case today for me.
What was I thinking? After an an exciting morning with a film crew, no sooner did I get into my online work than I looked at my watch and it was getting dangerously close to time to go to that SF improv audition in front of 25 directors. By the time I jumped into the Miata it was after 5 and there was a stall on the Bay Bridge, awful traffic backed up for miles. I got to the Mission Street site 15 minutes after the call and it was way over. Way over.
First time I've done this and, last time, I hope.
Judging by the "no slack for you, Sister" demeanor of the director running the event, he probably wouldn't have liked me, anyway. I handed him my headshot and resume, at least.
The bonus? I got to keep the other 25 resumes and cards with mini photo I had prepared - still good for many more auditions.
Home two hours later...via the Golden Gate. What a glorious sunset over Mount Tam! No fog, no stress, no pain.
