What's the difference between being an actress and living like one? Well, I guess today defines it in a way. I got up early to wash my hair because my hair and make-up artist Wilhemina Drake was coming over to get me ready for my shoot. Headshots and more, by Eduardo Soler, were planned... Had a few real world interruptions, but basically it was a moment by moment day...straightened up for my lovely creative guests, made some wardrobe selections for the shoot... ironed the slacks...spent the afternoon, 4 to 7:30 with Eduardo, mostly on my feet. Last night I filled 2 bags with props and shoes and jewelry for the shoot. We had a tremendous time in this mini park, with curious passersby and charming dogs and babies, folks complimenting me on my looks. I did my wardrobe changes in a neglected garage with no door, in a corner, quickly. Three costume changes later I was off to the "Firstborn" cast party in my salwar kameeze from Fabindia in Hyderabad, all aglow in my orange dupatta and green print kameeze which once survived 24 hours on trains in India. Good party. Champagne. Great healthy food. All actors and crew received their individually printed on parchment awards from Golden Pen Entertainment - mine was for Best Wig Transformations. Signed by Tiffany Golden herself, and delivered in a Jamaican accent, mon.
Next run - maybe in August. My disappointment was in not seeing three of my favorite actors there. You know who you are. Miss you all. But, it was also great to meet the husband and boyfriend and friend of others in our gang.
"Do I have to wash my face tonight?" asks the actress whose make-up is nearly flawless after eight hours. The real me knows the answer to that one.
