Audition at Nancy Hayes Casting

Auditions at Nancy Hayes Casting are always smooth and efficient, and the waits are short. The holding room is large enough to comfortably fit about 25 people, and you always get a sense of your fellow actors and models, most of whom are friendly. Typically, after you fill out a form for the day's audition and your particular role, you may also sign a page for the client. Then, when you have a moment, you can go to the computers provided and update your own profile for the casting agency.

Today it didn't rain and the sun peeked through the San Francisco fog. There was ample parking in the neighborhood south of Market. I ran into two actors I know, Pat the lawyer with whom I worked on a Cisco shoot last year and Byron the solid actor with whom I once recorded a podcast. So, three years into this career, and I am part of a small group of survivors who have agents who send them out.

We auditioned for a print and video campaign for a drug to alleviate pain and we were all over 40 and a bit arthritic. Seems we could be any height and weight. Love that! All we needed was a strong ability to show joint-based pain in our faces. It was fun to sit behind the video monitors and see a few of the actresses who preceded me do their best.

And now we wait for our casting agent's decisions.
