The shoot at Warehouse 12

The handsome young actor I spent the most time chatting with on this shoot, between takes, was a Navy brat. I'm a U.N. brat. Funny, after all our travels, education, and life experiences, that we both ended up yesterday at a warehouse at the old Alameda Naval Yard, as part of a gang of 40 actor/models for an Internet commercial.
Billed as a long day, it did not disappoint. The casting director had a difficult job, to say the least, herding us all and confirming everyone's availability, wardrobe, etc. My call had not come in by midnight the day before, so the next morning, on shoot day, as part of my current campaign to follow up with everyone and everything where issues remain unresolved and unknowns still unknown (a lot of people have been dropping the ball lately), I emailed the casting contact, and within minutes, he called me, and we agreed I could show up at noon. He was refreshingly apologetic about having misplaced my email.

So - that was my break. I ended up working half as many hours as my colleagues, for same pay, same good lunch. The wardrobe mistress liked my new always-pressed peach blouse (Thanks, Annie!) over a beige tank top and black slim slacks, and they arranged for me to stand in position with two cool guys, one young, one older, in this visual concept drama to promote a b2b company heralding the power of people over machines.

Requirement: look good, look business-y, look proud. Don't move much, and be able to quickly get into position, avoiding cables and machinery, when the director yells "Action!" into the bullhorn - one of the only intelligible commands we could discern in the cavernous warehouse.

Wish I could reveal more about this cool and enjoyable shoot, but, if we wait for post-production day and campaign release, I am sure I'll have a link to share at some point.
