Too under the weather to drive several hours to Reno today after a local job interview in the AM. Still in healing mode, and need to guard my energy. Another actress I know who was thinking of going said that for her, the time and expense would just be too much, because she had work at home, and that would be money in, as opposed to money out, for a maybe. That's how it is, folks. We actors have to safeguard what we have and what we may lose, especially in this crumbling economy.
On another note: the scammers are at it again, now that the new season is upon us. There is a creepy faux "club" for actors that has a call out online (Craigslist, for example) for actors for "Les Miz," just about 6 months too early for non-singers or extras. Then, there's the faux modeling agency who may charge you $800 for headshots currently scouring the purses of potential thespians around the SF Bay. Beware, my dears, beware.
That other actress sounds very savvy.
