An unlikely cabaret

We are thirteen people of age in the East Bay, centered in Berkeley. Somehow, because we all speak French, plus ou mois, and know the director, a snappy octogenarian British francophile, we found ourselves together today, at the launch rehearsal for a French cabaret to be held in a couple of weeks, as entertainment for a private club devoted to appreciation of French language and culture. It was a bit of a shaky start to what will probably be an utterly charming event, with poetry, dance, song with piano and guitar accompaniment, and spoken word in a true cabaret setting.

Some of the talented performers of yore we admire include Edith Piaf: http://youtu.be/LfmguyDRBwU,
Yves Montand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LACZU05vmbk, and the cast of the movie "South Pacific." http://youtu.be/2W4o4VM2Kbc
