Mellow Saturday night screening of "Marius"
Thanks to my brother, filmmaker Tony Carlson, for videotaping the play, "Marius," back in August 2013 when I thought I'd become a great stage actress, after six months of tough rehearsals. I finally got to see the video of this translation from the French by Roland David Valayre (our director) of the Marcel Pagnol 1920s play, with edits by our producer and my co-actor, Ket Watters (who played Cesar). The private screening last night at Ket's place was a bit of a downer, though, as no one came but the associate stage manager and my friend and her mate, both in from jetting around the planet.

But, the upper was, finally seeing what I looked like on stage from an audience perspective, something nearly unimaginable when you are up there, spouting your lines and bouncing around the stage. I was heartened to see what I pulled off, stunned to hear my voice louder than most of the others, and that my stage voice has a bit of a Liz Taylor timbre to it. I now have a DVD copy of this moment in time, and will see if I can work it into my next actor's reel.
