First: There is very little atmosphere / background work in the Bay Area.

Second: What there is either pays a pittance, or nothing at all.

Three: Working as an extra will not assist your career as an actor.

So be careful everybody. There are scammers drooling over the idea that you will fall for their casting scams. For the few opportunities to work on a shoot and be paid, check with the Mayor's Film Office. They have listings of legitimate productions and their needs. And it cost NOTHING to get the real information.
