Andy Warhol honored actress Ingrid Bergman with this painted memorial of her life and work.
I went to the Internet first and found all the good films about nuns in prep for my little Head Nun role in "The House of Blue Leaves" (at least 12, from "The Bells of Saint Mary's" to "Doubt" to some gawd-awful cult S and M nunsence in Japanese, then I took my list to the Berkeley Public Library. Not one of the movies was available and some had waiting lists miles long. I await the email from the cool librarian that "Lilies of the Field" at least, may be available within another week.
So, what's going on? That many fetishists out there, eh? Or traumatized former students from Catholic institutions doing due diligence these days?
As for me, I just want to make sure my costume is correct (don't forget the large chain and crucifix, sez I!) and my attitude under the garments, not excessively overwrought...
Brought my script along today and studied in between other activities. Saw Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story." I recommend it to anyone without a job, who has been laid off, or who has lost a house to Big Mortgage Cretins (Michael names names and Congress looks rully rully baaaad) - not as surprising or tightly woven as his earlier flicks, but that scene about the companies that hope you, their employee, dies so they can cash in on your "secret" insurance policy that they own - is worth the entire documentary expedition. Now I know what Sarah Palin meant when she said, "You betcha!" Just imagine your Big Name employer betting against your very survival, for cash.
