Sixty actors, six roles, and the pulse quickens

The best thing that could happen after tonight's Big City audition is that I would get the role I set out to get, of the grande dame in this Manhattan-based farce. The next best thing would be that I get cast in the other interesting, busy role that requires a ton of hilarious accents...Absolutely everyone in the Bay Area who is anyone in theater was there tonight, including actor Patrick, currently appearing as Jerry Springer in "Jerry Springer the Opera," a sell-out at the Ray of Light Theater, and actress Michaela, a stunner who recently appeared in "The Master Class."

So many knew one another, and I was a veritable outsider. I love being an outsider at this point. Much to absorb, types to ponder, situations to assess.

Had a chat about horses with actor Andy, who told me about his warrior horse in Marin, and also said that this is the time to acquire a horse for free, as due to the economy, sadly, so many are abandoning theirs. Just my luck - I am at this juncture in life where everything and everyone I always wanted is changing dramatically. Right now I do not want to own a horse, nor to lease one. I want to ride and own a career as a strong actress, to ride it with the wind.

Wednesday we'll know who got the roles from tonight's audition and call-backs.
