Her Name is Karen Duncan. The place is called A'Bout with Hair.
This is Karen of Davis. I met her when Karie hired her for hair and make-up on that compliance shoot last week. She took care of 21 actors in 3 days! Lucky me, I had to drive up to Sacramento to meet with the project manager to view my rough cuts for UC Davis from another shoot earlier in the year (in a long-planned and sustained effort to get clips for my acting reel), so I just had to stop by and get hair washed and styled by Karen. She taught me all about how to dry my hair after washing, using mouse, then how to direct the Babyliss ceramic curling iron to curl and shine in a new direction, backwards from my previous concept, and how to use a special conditioning spray for heat.
Who knew? All these years with an arm-killing round bristle brush and a heavy hand-held hair dryer, I thought I had it knocked. I mean, I made it through India in August that way.... But, now I've learned a few new things about my head and hair. "Mousse it. Dry it. Spray it. Curl it. Toussle it. Style it. Spray again," said she.
Thank you, Karen! The experiments with the new Babyliss and heat activated spray Karen procured for me begin this week! It's sure to change my head. Every budding star needs at least two hairdressers, now I get it.
