You're a Theater Person Now, He Said

My old director pal and former boss in NY, Ellis said, "You're a theater person now," when I sent him the great little clip of actress June Brothers, star of the play at the Aurora Theater in Berkeley, "The First Grade," which dear Jeanne took me to last night. Wonderful performance, a great piece of new 21st century writing! http://www.auroratheatre.org/show.php?prod_id=67&ref=seas   Go to the interview.

The bonus? I got to re-meet actress Rebecca, who also works at the SF talent agency, Stars. Met her for that audition months ago, ended up with Tonry Talent. Nothing is cast in concrete, right chums?

In my own little theater world - here's the week ahead: costume proposals Wednesday night at the "Firstborn" rehearsal, and we are to be off book pretty soon. So, even in corporateville South, I take my breathers in front of the script and swim in the pool at my hotel and at the college when I can, reciting my lines. One other thing: I am scheduled to be videotaped about this experience. Director/writer Tiffany Golden is media maximizing the entire enterprise, and I have faith we are going somewhere notable, because the story is so relevant, universal, and damned intelligently told. In addition to the video, there will be a radio ad, there's the blog and the website. We are famous even before we are born.

For the Doctor -  I have the recommended pair of clogs. They are old, they are red. I hope to be provided with the doctor's standard white coat.

For Sister Jackie - I have an idea of a black suit and an old pair of T-strap medium high heels.
