They Howled, She Said

It was weird to hear the most impressive audience so far and know that not one of my peeps was in it! But, Bravo, audience! It made us all feel fantastic that you howled and applauded at unexpected moments.

One more night of these revelations...

Every performance when we actors are in the green room, we chat or listen to the play as it is projected to us over the audio system...sometimes we hear new things. Sometime we chime in like a chorus, on our favorite parts. It could be just one word or two... my fave is "tantamount!" Bunny Flingus (Bonnie Lafer) rolls this word around in her tantamouth: "tantamount."

Tonight Maddie, who plays the Hollywood actress, Corrinna Stroller, picked up on character Billy Einhorn's line, something like,..."it's not a big leap from deaf to dead..." It really got to her. She ran out and half jokingly confronted the actor afterwards! Which made me think about how amazing John Guare must have been, at his typewriter, playing with all these KILLER words.

I would like to meet Mr. Guare before he and I go from deaf to dead.
